"Thank you for sending the very interesting newsletter which alerted us to the fact that your farm and bird activities would be included in Countryfile. We watched it specifically for that item.

We buy our bird feed (peanut granules, sunflower heart chips, pinhead oats) from you which we mix and put into a mealworm feeder with a guardian cage in order to attract the small species. This year has seen an amazing return of sparrows to our garden having sometimes up to ten at a time. We also have robins, dunnocks, blue and great tits, the occasional green finches and blackbirds – not too bad for a suburban garden measuring about 15 x 17 metres.

Thank you for looking after the countryside. I wish all farmers were so enlightened."

Dear Sir

"Thank you very much for your prompt and efficient service. The seed ordered arrived at about 10.30 am this morning, and there is now a very happy group of finches, including greenfinches, a large flock of goldfinches including several of this year's fledglings and at least one pair of siskins, all of which seem to feel it is their duty to eat any available sunflower seeds as quickly as possible. We have not seen a robin in the garden for several weeks and hope that word of the availability of suitable seed will spread. Thanks again"

"I recently ordered seed, nuts and fat balls on a Sunday and was delighted when it arrived by the following Tuesday 9am, especially considering the weather!

Today I was even more delighted because I had greenfinches, nuthatch and 7 long tailed tits all feeding from the seed and nuts, none of which I have seen in the garden for a long time.

The quality of the seed has, I think, much to do with this and I felt I just had to let you know how pleased I am and that I will be recommending it to friends

This topic is very important to me as I am very concerned about farm animal welfare: for this reason I am a vegan and avoid using animal products wherever possible - if I have no alternative then I only use organically produced products. Unfortunately, in light of your very honest reply, I will not be purchasing fat balls at the present time. However, if, in the future, you find a source for your suet and fat balls that is organic, or better still vegetable based, please let me know, and I will be very happy to purchase them.

In the meantime, I would just like to let you know that I am very satisfied with the products that I purchase from you - they are good quality and very fairly priced. The service is excellent, very fast delivery and any problems I have had have been dealt with promptly and politely. Keep up the good work!"

Sadly last week I ran out of seed and since the snow was on it's way I purchased some bird seed from a local supplier to keep my birds happy until I could order from you - bad move on my part because the birds realised that it was inferior seed and to show their disgust they hardly touched the bird feeders.

I have learnt my lesson, I will keep a closer eye on my bird food and not let it run out again.

"I bought some of your bird seed at Rutland Bird Fair last year, I have never seen so much sunflower seeds and the variety in the mix. The range of birds that we get are amazing: 11 Red legged Partridge, Blue Tits, Great Tits, House Sparrows, Hedge Sparrows, Greenfinch, Goldfinch, Starlings, Collared Doves, Wood Pigeons, Robins, Turtle Dove, Stock Dove, Pheasants and I think that is it!! We do get a Gt Spotted Woodpecker on the peanuts. I just thought you would like to know the variety"
