Skylark

Alauda arvensis

The Skylark is now declining in large numbers.  The changing farming habits have brought about the decline in this bird.  This may be partly due to the use of pesticides. It may also be a result in the way of farming.  Cereal crops are now being sown in the autumn and growing through into the next summer making the ground difficult for the Skylark to find food.
