Tit Nest Box

This wooden Tit Nest Box has been designed with a 28mm hole for Blue Tit, Coal Tit, Marsh Tit, Tree Sparrow, Wren and other small birds. Locally made in Lincolnshire with FSC timber, felt roof and finished with eco friendly preservative. This Nest Box was built based on BTO guidelines. The hinged roof enables easy inspection and cleaning. All wooden nest boxes are treated with a light oak preservative.

A member of the Tit family, which is a less frequent garden visitor than Blue Tits and Great Tits. It is most at home among conifer trees.

Blue Tit

This delightful and entertaining small bird is a frequent visitor to garden bird feeders and tables, performing skilful acrobatics to obtain a meal of peanuts or fat. They are thought to be intelligent as they will investigate new sources of food such as stealing the top of the milk learn from each other and use great dexterity of beak and foot. They are easily recognised by their blue cap and wings, white cheeks and yellow body.

Marsh Tit

A less common member of the tit family that has seen a sharp decline in recent years. They can often be found clinging to the peanut feeder in the garden. Will nest in nest boxes if they are near to woodland, this being their natural habitat. These birds are territorial and stay with their young in the same vicinity.
