Peanut and Niger Seed Feeders by Vine House Farm

Both peanuts and niger seed need special feeders and at Vine House Farm we have a large range of high quality peanut feeders and niger feeders for the birds in your garden. Starting with peanuts, it's important that peanuts are only fed from a mesh peanut feeder, as whole peanuts fed loosely can cause birds to choke. We sell mesh peanut feeders with both steel and plastic bases, though if you have squirrels in your garden we would recommend that you only use a peanut feeder with a steel base. Niger seed needs a special niger feeder because this tiny seed would simply flow out of the ports on a normal seed feeder. With niger feeders though, the ports are just very small holes in the plastic tube and these are just large enough for the Goldfinch or Siskin - the two main species who feed on niger - to get their beak into and pull out the niger seed.
