Vine House Farm gets another win

Nicholas Watts, along with his wife, Anne Watts attended the 2011 Food & Farming Industry Awards on the 9th of December at the House of Commons and to their delight came away as winners of the Rural Enterprise Award.

The Awards celebrate the people and companies that are growing our economy through innovation and hard work, these are the champions of the UK farming industry . . .

The event was organised by Farm Business and the award Rural Enterprise Award was sponsored by McDonalds Restaurants. The event was hosted by MP Daniel Kawczynski along with guest speaker Adam Henson.

The judges commented:

Few saw the potential of wild bird seed nor the way the market for bird seed would grow but Nicholas Watts' early passions for bird watching and keen observations turned an idea into a success. As rural enterprises go, this ticks so many boxes – it’s a family run business, it’s sustainable, always moving forward, it knows its market well and delivers what its customers want, and as Nicholas says, unlike many businesses that might have a negative effect on their environment as they grow – more and more hectares of wild bird seed just goes on adding to the environment in a positive way.
