The Claypas material makes the bird bath resistant to cracking and warping, even during very cold winter conditions. Some orders less than 1kg in weight will come by Royal Mail.
Orders for Live Mealworms are sent directly from our supplier via Royal Mail. They are dispatched the same day if orders are received by 12pm Mon-Thurs; no orders are dispatched on a Friday. Please allow four working days for orders to arrive.

The colour and shape of the bowl are very pleasing and the stand gives a sensible height. The birds are taking a little while to use it as confidently as they do the smaller bowl but I’ve bought some pebbles now and will create a couple of islands, giving the birds smaller areas to use. Once again service was amazing with the bird bath arriving the day after being ordered. Thank you

An issue for some types of bird bath and in particular those made from stone or concrete, is that they can crack during the winter due to how frozen water expands in mass. The Coniston bird bath isn’t prone to this problem, because it’s made from a very strong material called Clayplas. This material combines natural clay with recycled plastic, making it highly tough and durable.
The importance of providing clean water for garden birds cannot be overstated, and is just or even more important than providing food. This is true for all the months of the year, and especially in urban areas where there are few if any natural sources of clean water.
Birds need water for both drinking and bathing, with the importance of the former being increased when feeding garden birds with most bird foods. This is because, and with the exception of live mealworms and waxworms, food put out for birds contains no moisture - and birds need to stay hydrated like all living creatures. Bathing is important to help maintain the condition of feathers, and hence why birds often preen them after coming out of a bird bath.
Is the Coniston bird bath easy to keep clean?
Yes the Coniston bird bath is very easy to clean, with the smooth surface allowing for dirt and algae to be easily removed using a brush and water. Remember that if you use any sort of chemical detergent to help clean the bird bath, then it’s vital that this is fully rinsed off with clean water before refilling the bird bath.
