Lovely fresh, good quality mealworms, a firm favourite with the birds that visit my garden. Excellent service, arrived promptly. Recyclable plastic packaging would be good, but at least not in more packaging than necessary and not in a large hard plastic tub.

Excellent service and delivery from Vine House Farm as usual. I understand some profits go to Wildlife Charity which is why I buy from them. The 1kg mealworms were a bit more expensive than some other places I can buy locally. Enjoyed by my Blackbirds and Robins!

Dried mealworms good value compared to local price and very popular with starlings. Perhaps too much so. I wish they would give other birds a look in !

much, much better than the dried mealworms I got from another retailer (which were largely 'dust') and the robins, in particular, love them - and they're really the customers! Also, the birds LOVE the suet pellets.

My birds know when I put their food down as I make a clicking sound when I put it out. The meal worms are devoured quickly by Robins, blackbirds and magpies.

I have the dried ones to avoid the wriggle. These also avoid the smell that other mealworm packages have.

I like ordering from Vine House Farm, knowing that a contribution to the Wildlife Trust is made with each purchase. All the birds that visit our very small city garden adore mealworms - robins, sparrows, blackbirds and woodpigeons. Starlings too, earlier this year. With only space for one feeder it's good to fill it with something that's enjoyed by all of these birds. The free next day delivery service is really helpful.

A high-quality product that is very well-received by a variety of our garden birds. When offered mixed with suet pellets, and alongside sunflower seeds, the mealworms are selectively taken first. No waste in the packet. Delivery from Vine House Foods is as efficient as always - couldn't be better.

The dried mealworms are an excellent and easy-to-use food that all types of garden visitors including birds and hedgehogs just love, judging by the speed they are hoovered up. I've never seen so many sparrows and tits on the hanging and ground feeders.

Our garden birds grab the mealworms from the bird table as soon as I put them there. They fly off with beaks full of them, to feed their young ones. There's no waste. I recommend them to anyone who wants to attract birds to their garden.

Dried mealworms are the non-live equivalent of live mealworms. Mealworms are the larvae form of the darkling beetle, which many commonly refer to as the mealworm beetle. Insects and other invertebrates are an important food source for many species of wild bird.
Some people are put off live worms because of their wriggle; in this case, dried alternatives are a good option. Dried mealworms offer a similar amount of fat and protein as live mealworms, but without the wriggle. If you are choosing to feed dried mealworms to birds, it is important that you soak them in water before you put them out in your garden. This will provide birds with much-needed moisture, which is naturally present in live mealworms.
Insects are an excellent addition to your bird food selection. Live food is often left out of gardens, which means people can miss out on seeing several ground-feeding species of garden birds.
When choosing your wild bird food, it is important to have a diverse range of food sources available in your garden or feeding area. This will attract more species of wild bird into your garden. For best results, we recommend including dried mealworms in your garden alongside other types of bird food. These could include straight seeds like sunflower seeds or sunflower hearts, seed mixes, suet pellets and suet fat balls, and peanuts.
