Little owls can be found traditionally in farmland, within orchards or around smallholdings with mixed land, outbuildings, cowsheds and barns. They will also use rabbit burrows, old buildings or nest within a tree-hole. This nesting box offers similar surroundings with a tunnel into a dark and safe cavity. The high access helps to ensure that fledgelings are contained for as long as possible. Place near a food source, such as wild meadow, a rotting wood pile or muck heap, where voles, beetles, grasshoppers and moths can be found.
This nest box is made to order, using slow-seasoned FSC certified timber, which negates the need for stains or preservatives.
