Cumbria Wildlife Trust
Cumbria Wildlife Trust is the only voluntary organisation devoted solely to the conservation of the wildlife and wild places of Cumbria. The Trust stands up for wildlife, creates wildlife havens, and seeks to raise environmental awareness.
Formed in 1962 and supported by thousands of members and supporters, the Trust cares for 38 nature reserves, campaigns for the protection of endangered habitats and species such as limestone pavements and red squirrels, and works with adults and children to discover the importance of the natural world.
Cumbria Wildlife Trust is part of a partnership of 46 local Wildlife Trusts across the UK. With more than 800,000 members and 2,300 nature reserves, we are the largest UK voluntary organisation dedicated to conserving the full range of the UK’s habitats and species.

“We are delighted to be working in partnership with Vine House Farm, an award-winning farm with an inspiring commitment to nature conservation, growing, packing and delivering their high-quality bird food all from their UK farm. To date, Vine House Farm’s support has totalled over £1,250,000, including over £16,300 for Cumbria Wildlife Trust.”
Receiving on-going donations from Vine House Farm enables much of our work to happen such as the restoration of species-rich grasslands and peatlands across Cumbria. It’s also enabled us to raise awareness about marine life in the Irish Sea and ensure it can thrive within Marine Protected Areas and beyond. This year we plan to get Cumbria buzzing with much-needed pollinators along our highways and in our community spaces and gardens; save threatened sand dunes to reverse the decline of rare plants and animals and bring life back to our dunes; enable people to engage more closely with nature to help their local wildlife and their health and well-being through our hub at Gosling Sike, Carlisle.
