Herefordshire Wildlife Trust
Herefordshire Wildlife Trust takes practical action for wildlife across Herefordshire. Our 55 Nature Reserves showcase wonderful examples of wildlife habitat: ancient woodland and old orchards on the Woolhope Dome, wildflower meadows in the Golden Valley and wetlands through the Lower Lugg Valley to name just a few.
The projects we run often focus on creating or restoring wildlife habitats outside of our reserves such as re-establishing lost pond networks through our landscapes, planting new reedbeds or supporting landowners to make their estates increasingly wildlife friendly.
We also work hard to engage people with our county’s wildlife and wild spaces through our community projects, many of which focus on bringing children closer to the nature on their doorstep.
With nearly 5,000 members and 300 volunteers, together we give wildlife a voice within our county, working with local government, groups and individuals to create a Herefordshire richer and more diverse in wildlife.

The funds we have received from Vine House Farm have directly contributed towards the management work we do on our nature reserves – particularly our woodlands. They have enabled us to carry out traditional tasks such as coppicing – paying for the tools and keeping our volunteer minibus on the road so our dedicated volunteers can travel to each site.
