Wildlife Trust for Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire
The Wildlife Trust for Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire & Northamptonshire is a local wildlife conservation charity. We exist to restore and preserve the wildlife and wild places in our three counties.
We manage over 100 nature reserves, which offer a variety of habitats. From wetland to wildflower meadow and ancient woodland to wild fen, these habitats are a refuge for wildlife. We also provide many opportunities for communities and families to learn about and be inspired by nature.
Our work is supported by over 34,000 individual members and 70 corporate supporters. Over 1,000 volunteers are working with us to help ensure a Wilder Future for all of us.
The Wildlife Trust BCN is one of 46 similar Wildlife Trusts across the country and is affiliated with the Royal Society for Wildlife Trusts.
Our mission is to create a Wilder Future by restoring and protecting the wildlife and wild places across our area.

“Our partnership with Vine House Farm Bird Foods is one of our longest-standing and most valuable. It’s raised more than £55,000 for our Trust, by helping our members and supporters help birds and wildlife in their gardens. It’s a privilege to work with Vine House Farm, as a company and a family who have made a huge difference for the birds on their own farms and encouraged many people to do the same in their gardens.”
The support from Vine House Farm Bird Foods helps us deliver vital reserve management and community engagement activities.
In particular, the partnership has helped us to raise awareness of, engage with, and inspire our supporters through initiatives to encourage wildlife-friendly practices across our counties. The work is vital given the overall decline of species in the UK and really helps to inspire others to make a difference for wildlife.
An excellent example of how Vine House Farm partnership funds have enabled us to raise awareness of conservation work is a Community Bird Migration Project within the Great Fen Living Landscape. Local households took part in bird surveys and our team led outreach activities with local schools, including setting up bird feeding areas, to promote the area as vital for resident and migratory birds. Many households have continued to contribute survey data since the end of the pilot, showing the lasting effect that Vine House Farm allowed us to have on the local community.
We are proud and grateful to be associated with a family business that has strived so hard over the years to do so much for wild farmland birds and biodiversity.
