What direction should a blue tit log nest box face?
The main consideration needs to be that the Blue tit log nest box does not get direct sunlight during the hottest part of the day - so never put the nest box facing south. The ideal aspect is facing east or north east, as this allows some direct sunlight first thing in the morning but largely shade after that. West facing should also be avoided as much of the rain we get in the British Isles comes in on a westerly wind, which therefore can blow into the nest hole.
How high should natural log blue tit nesting boxes be?
The ideal height for a natural Blue tit nesting box to be positioned is about 2 metres from the ground.
