Ark Klens Feeder Disinfectant is a veterinary recommended disinfectant solution, ideal for cleaning bird feeders, bird baths, and bird tables.

Ark Klens Feeder Disinfectant is a bird safe disinfectant and cleanser, and will help protect against E.coli, Salmonella, psittacosis and flu viruses (and others). Available as a ready-to-use 500ml bird feeder disinfectant spray or as an economical 250ml bottle of concentrate (for use at a rate of 10ml/5 litres).

The regular cleaning of bird feeders, bird tables and bird baths is an absolutely essential aspect of feeding garden birds, as otherwise the very birds that you’re trying to help are being put at risk from potentially fatal diseases.

Orders received by 3pm Monday to Friday will be dispatched via DHL on a no signature delivery service; simply advise us where to leave your bags. We don't deliver on Saturdays, Sundays or Bank Holidays.

Some orders less than 1kg in weight will come by Royal Mail.

Orders for Live Mealworms are sent directly from our supplier via Royal Mail. They are dispatched the same day if orders are received by 12pm Mon-Thurs; no orders are dispatched on a Friday. Please allow four working days for orders to arrive.

If you have not received your order within seven working days please contact us on 01775 630208.

We now deliver to all of mainland UK with no extra delivery charge. Please note that some postcode areas that are classed as Scottish Islands and Highlands may take 2-3 working days to arrive. For deliveries outside of these areas a £10 charge will be applied. Postcode areas affected include HS, IV41 – IV49, IV51, IV55 and IV56, KA27 and KA28, KW15 to KW17, PA20, PA41 to PA49, PA60 to PA78, PH42 to PH44, ZE, Isle of Man

We are unable to deliver to the Republic of Ireland or the Channel Islands.

Very good cleaner especially noticed on my bird baths which were prone to lots of algae. I gave them a good soak and they did need hosing well to get rid of all the residue cleaner but they seem to be staying cleaner longer too so win win.

I feel really safe using art klens feeder disinfectant around the bird feeders I have been using it to clean around the ground to scrub the mess, it cleans nice and feel fresh easy to use, instructions are simple to follow with the concentrated ark klens, does the job with no worries about strong cleaning smells, I always rinse everything over and over though just to be safe, I will keep buying,

I have had this disinfectant before, very useful for cleaning the birdtable etc. Service from Vine Farm, as usual, extremely good. Monthly I wash down all the parts of the bird feeder in eco friendly cleaner, rinse them and then spray on the disinfectant for good measure. I let it dry and then refill it with seeds. The spray bottle makes it easy to apply. I would recommend.

Straightforward measurement system (protip, remove the foil from under the cap first...), followed instructions and left feeders to soak for approx. 5mins before cleaning with the feeder brush (long bottle brush) also bought from this site. Left to dry fully in the sun before reassembly. Removed lots of gunk and hopefully safer for the birds now. Intend to repeat regularly. I was unsure about direct contact with skin, but found videos on YouTube where the demonstrators used bare hands. I have fairly sensitive skin but this product did not bring me out in a rash.

Although it’s unlikely to be anyone’s favourite job, the fact is that the regular cleaning of bird feeders is a totally essential element of garden bird feeding. The same also applies to other surface areas garden birds come into contact with when feeding and drinking, such as bird tables and bird baths. This is because a high concentration of birds in a relatively small area and combined with waste from feeding such as seed husks, can produce the conditions for deadly bacteria like Salmonella and E.coli. to develop and spread. In addition, the concentration of birds can also allow the transmission of diseases from one bird to another - e.g. when a bird uses a perch to feed from immediately after another bird.
Ark Klens disinfectant is a great solution to the problem, with Ark-Klens ready to use spray perfect for the quick cleaning of surfaces, and the 250ml concentrate ideal for more thorough cleaning of feeders and their fittings when it’s mixed with water (10ml to 5 litres).
The key active Ark-Klens ingredients are a blend of benzalkonium chloride (quaternary ammonium compounds). As with any disinfectant used to clean bird baths, bird tables and bird feeders, rinse off thoroughly with clean water before use.
