Duck & Swan Food

Our Duck and Swan Food is ideal for feeding to wild duck, swans and also geese at local ponds, lakes, rivers and canals. This duck food is a natural mix of grains and contains wheat, barley, oats and kibbled maize. If the water is shallow where the ducks and swans are, then the mix can be thrown into the water where it will sink but the birds will still be able to eat by dipping their heads below the water – a behaviour they would anyway do for natural food. If the ducks, swans or geese are out of the water on the bank, then the duck seed can be scattered on the ground.

Common species of duck such as Mallard and our native breeding Mute swan will readily take this food, plus other species of duck and geese which gather at lakes in parks, river banks and canals where they know people will feed them.

The grains in our Duck and Swan Food provide the nutrition the waterfowl need, which is in contrast to bread, which should not be fed to ducks and swans. Bread is not suitable for ducks, swans or geese, as) it has little nutrition in it for them and it fills them up which then discourages the birds feeding on the natural foods they need to survive.
