The construction is very good and robust. The birds seem reluctant to use it but I experienced similar with another enclosed feeder so I think they just need to get used to the new design.

Well made, will last. Needs a little extra wire to hold lid - but once in place - a quality feeder that protects from squirrels. Excellent speedy service from Vine House Farm and their delivery partner DHL. The seed mixes available from Vine House Farm for this feeder are very popular with garden birds.

Rooks and Jackdaws were eating the bird seed from my hanging feeders. They have not been able to get food from the caged feeder leaving more for the tits and finches so it does what it says - so much that I have purchased a second feeder.

At last something to deter the squirrel who was driving our dog mad!! The feeder is robust and very well made. It's keeping the squirrel away but the birds are taking a while to get used to it, the blue tits and goldfinches being the bravest.

The squirrels just swing on the feeder, knocking all the sunflower seeds out. I thought this might be the answer to our squirrel problem, but unfortunately it isn’t. New review. I have to say that after a week or so the squirrels have given up trying to get the sunflower seeds. And the birds are using the feeder now. So so far so good and the feeder is working well. Thanks

Great product made from strong materials and reasonably priced. This is the first bird feeder ( I have four ) that is effective and stops the squirrels from tearing it apart and eating the contents.

The chain has signs of it starting to rust but otherwise it's very good at keeping the bigger undesirable birds away from the food! Definitely recommend it.

It is always a pleasure to deal with or buy from Vine House Farm. The Nuttery Caged Bird Seed Feeder is well made and very easy to use. It's a pleasure to see small birds flying in, eating and then flying out at great speed. The only problems are that the cage is wide enough to allow Parakeets to spend a lot of time eating from our Feeder, and having used wires to prevent Squirrels from opening the cap on top, we now see Squirrels upside-down on the outside of the cage, eating Bird Seed which has spilled out onto the bottom tray. The result is that it seems that small birds are sometimes delayed in getting access to the Bird Seed.

Arrived very quickly; 2 faults with it. Firstly with wood pigeons standing on it the cover at the top broke so i have had to fix it myself.Secondly, we have had really heavy rain at times for 24 +.The main shute with the feed gets feed gets stuck and does not flow as it should.

Been looking for a replacement for a much loved by the birds feeder, when I spotted this - the exact same feeder! Well made, the replaced feeder has lasted years but is gradually rusting away. Some people have commented on the fiddly handles, I have used a carabiner (find them in walking shops) and it makes hanging a doddle and opening to fill very easy. Very pleased with purchase.

Whilst the feeder description says pigeons cannot use the feeder, our pigeons haven't realised this yet. It does however make it harder for the acrobatic food hogs so they might stop trying over time. I have however seen more small birds using it than the previous feeder.

I have found that the small lid and fixings can be tied up so as not to allow squirrels to get through by removing the lid but doesn't hold as much as the Nuttery Squirrel Proof nut feeder purchased from you in 2017, which is the only downside. I purchased this feeder as your Heavy Duty Seed feeder purchased four years ago had recently allowed a squirrel to remove the lid, climb right down into the seed tube, emptying it. This is a very well-made sturdy product. I would have given it five stars but our sparrows have taken two weeks to get used to it and they are still very wary. Hopefully, they will get a bit braver in coming weeks.

Turnaround on the order is equivalent to Amazon, in other words amazingly fast. The feeder was faulty when it arrived but the response was impressive with no quibbles and the replacement was immediate and in perfect working order. My squirrels (there are 4 of them) are very determined, very acrobatic and love a puzzle to solve, so it’s been impossible to find a spot that they cannot reach. These squirrel proof feeders have thwarted them and the blue tits are very grateful

Good Product. Minor issues are, can be difficult to hang on some stands a hook would be useful. It is better to use smaller seeds as the small diameter of the container causes jams with bigger seeds or mealworms.

Strong and sturdy- definitely keeps out the squirrels and larger birds. Looks good as well. Only downside is the design of handle makes it a bit fiddly to hang from bird feeder

Bought to replace a similar one and a bit disappointed to find it holds only half the amount of food. Otherwise, it does the job keeping squirrels at bay and is easy to clean.

It took the small birds a while to trust the new feeder but after about a week they gradually started to use it. The squirrels cant get to the seed so the small birds are able to get more. This is what we wanted to achieve.

I have had problems with squirrels for a long time and this feeder was a last chance to continue feeding the birds. It has been quite funny watching these little pests trying to get at the seed. They have tried from every angle with no luck. They now pass by taking no notice of the feeder. Success at last. The greenfinches were a bit scared to go inside the cage at first, it is a bit tight for them but they seem fine with it now and the smaller birds have no problem. My only negative comment is that the feeder is made in China. I do not buy goods from this Country and should have asked before buying.

Build and functionality are great - however it holds way less seed than my previous feeders, which I had not realised when I ordered it - and the smaller birds are not as happy ... but a few have found their way in .... if I did not have so many giant bullies eating vast amounts of my bird seed (rooks, crows, jackdaws, magpies, etc etc) I would go back to a normal feeder - but for now I will persevere!!!

THe important thing is, it's squirrel proof! I needed to add extra wire to keep the top fastened but that's no problem. The squirrels stay off and the little birds and the woodpeckers have no problem getting the sunflower hearts that I put in.
