For a device with moving parts exposed to the elements 24/7, this is remarkably effective and durable. I bought this to replace one I had used continuously for 12 or 14 years. This newer version has adjustable tension allowing you to exclude creatures above a certain weight. A bit pricy but it will save you a fortune feeding wildlife you don't want to steal it.

I have just been watching a squirrel eating the seeds on the ground beneath the feeder and making no attempt to access it. The feeder is good quality, easy to fill and I wish I had bought it years ago.

I tried so many other feeders that made similar claims but the clever squirrels were able to get through, over or round them after a while. The feeder is only squirrel proof if situated in such a position away from overhanging branches. I hang my feeders on several long wires so the squirrel can’t grip to get down on to it. This seeder is about the best on the market for all birds and providing you use pure sunflower hearts then all birds will benefit. I have five of these feeders hanging from branches and I get a huge variety each day including woodpeckers, bull finches, nit hatches, all the finches, the blackbird and robin eat from them too.

Assembly of the feeder was really simple. Filling it is also easy. Birds came to it and started using it within an hour of my hanging it. Blue-tits, Great Tits, Nuthatches, Coal Tits, Robins being the most regular. I now feel sorry for the squirrels as I see them tirelessly attempting to get at the seed mix without success. My Premium seeds mix plus suet pellets have never lasted so long. The feeder has been well worth the money.

Just bought my second squirrel buster, my last eventually perished after many years of squirrel and bird abuse as the spring died. The latest one is more sophisticated as you can adjust the balance. I have recommended it to friends who have all purchased from Vine House. There is no other option, however there is still the odd Houdini of the squirrel world who can work out how to balance precariously to access the seeds but the birds still have the main share and give so much pleasure..

The small birds love it. I live in central London and we are visited by robins, coal and blue tits, goldfinches and Dunnock. It is a pity blackbirds are ground feeders, but so are pigeons which it excludes. AND this morning a squirrel found it, was barred from the feed and fell into a bush below, never to return.

It seems to be working! The squirrels are still trying to hang from the tree to get the seed but they give up quickly as it is so difficult for them. The birds love it and my seed is lasting so much longer. Very pleased.

Great at deterring Grey Squirrels and overall better value than a regular feeder inside a guardian. Only trouble is that Ring-Neck Parakeets can stand on one perch and bend round to another that is still open. Smaller birds love this feeder and overall I'm not losing as much seed.

The problem I have with other bird feeders is that magpies, jackdaws and pigeons get most of the bird seed before the smaller birds get a look in. This works v well. And has attracted all manner of smaller birds to the garden - which is why I bought this second Squirrel Buster...

Great concept, hence the 5 stars. Sadly, our damned squirrel has worked out how to hang from the central pole from which the feeders hang and thrust his mouth into the seed hopper and eat without touching the weight-activated bars! Have moved the feeder further from the pole hoping to foil him. We'll see.......

A squirrel has made a couple of attempts ( both unsuccessful ) but the birds are still a bit puzzled — they haven’t got the hang of perching on little perches In order to feed ! However the nuthatch has managed to feed by hanging upside down from the cage !

My placement of the feeder was vital. I hung it off a branch of a pyrochantha tree and in no time at all small birds of all sorts visited the feeder. All was going well until an adventurous squirrel shimmied down the hanger and ended up by dislodging the feeder which crashed to the ground. I replaced it and so far there has been no further squirrel interference. So I rate your feeder as Good with the potential to be very good.

It certainly works! We have had a squirrel totally puzzled by it despite many attempts to get to the seeds. The feeder itself is solidly built. The only problem we have at the moment is our birds are ignoring it and feeding from the traditional one. We shall have to wait and see what happens when the older feeder is empty.

A beautifully made and efficient bird-feeder. It is attracting more birds than my previous more basic feeders- they seem to like the semi circular perches and the way they have access to the seeds. The construction makes cleaning very easy. Delivery was speedy and the packaging excellent. Would recommend to anybody.

Finally a squirrel buster that works! I’m delighted with this. Easy to assemble and refill. I’m afraid the squirrels and pigeons now have to contend with what falls on the ground.
