The first time we hung this feeder, the hanging wire was far too large, and the squirrels just twisted it off its hook. It fell to the gound and burst open. We have now wired a smaller hanging loop to the main hanger and the squirrels can no longer get it off. It works percetly.

Very pleased with this feeder… keeps the squirrels out, the blue tits are now used to it and feeding regularly and the suet block is lasting much longer

Works a treat. Even makes it hard for hungry Starlings who can only get to the edges of the blocks, whilst the Blue Tits go right inside to feed. Great piece of kit.

Definitely keeps the squirrels out but maybe also a few of the small birds. Could be they just need to get used to it. Very useful tray to catch the bits. Helps keep the wood pigeons off the plants below.

I bought the squirrel resistant suet block feeder as Magpies, Rooks and Jackdaws were making it very expensive to feed the birds. I was going through 2 suet blocks a day. Now since having the feeders I go through 2 a week. The little birds love the security the cage around them brings and the larger birds can't get close enough to eat the suet block. Job done. They paid for themselves in a matter of days.

Squirrels, starlings and pigeons were all making a nuisance of themselves at the fat blocks, but not anymore! All the tiny birds - tits, sparrows, etc, are now able to feed in peace and the fat blocks now last longer! Great purchase.

Bought to deter squirrels and large birds. Very successful with squirrels, but starlings still a nuisance although greatly reduced in feeding numbers. Small birds took two or three days to get used to it, but now feed happily. Taking everything into account, it has been a good purchase.

Perfect feeder for our suet blocks which were previously eaten by the squirrels! The squirrels try every day to reach the suet block but fail every time. We now have happy birds!

It’s great for keeping the squirrels out but the catch that fastens the opening lid is extremely difficult to use & I feel that it will break after a few openings.

Mine has been in use a couple of weeks and for such a compact design has been remarkably effective in deterring squirrels. The inner cage is fixed to the base so doesn’t swing over to the side when a squirrel hangs on it. Smaller birds can get in and birds up to starling size can poke their heads through to reach the fat. There are very few block feeders on the market and nothing like this on Amazon. I’m pleased I bought it.

Good quality product and does exactly what it says. It is definitely Squirrel proof. They keep trying but fail every time. The birds were a little unsure at first but are loving it now. Even the Woodpeckers can feed with no issues which I am chuffed about. There is a tray at the bottom of the feeder which catches the bits of suet instead of it all falling on the floor. The Robins (those thin enough) can also enjoy and tend to feed from this bottom bit. Really happy so I bought a Squirrel proof peanut feeder, just waiting to see what the Squirrels make of that. Certainly worth the money as now I am not replacing the suet square daily.

An excellent product which is, indeed, squirrel-proof. Which is just what we wanted and needed. The manufacturer needs to take more care in packaging - ours arrived misaligned which took some effort to rectify. Some bubble wrap, or paper in the box would have sufficed. Small Birds 10, Squirrels 0.

I've tried all types of squirrel proof feeders, and eventually the squirrels have worked out how they can access the food and eventually destroy the feeder. I have watched them on this feeder and they don't stand a chance, as it is so well made.

The squirrels managed to twist the lid in their effort to open it. I now wire the lid down and the squirrels have given up. The magpies, woodpecker and small birds are very happy with this new feeder.

This is a lovely little suet block feeder, just as it says, not too large for a smaller garden. I was pleased with the very speedy delivery and how well it was packed. I thought it was reasonably priced as well. It has been very popular with my visiting birds, mainly assorted tits and one very interested nut hatch. I also get a visit from a young magpie which insists on trying to get at the suet block and clumsily swings on it rather hilariously. Pleased to say no squirrels have so far managed to get at it and I can more or less say it does work. I would definitely order from Vine Farm again. Well worth the buy.

It took the small birds a while to use it but they do and the jackdaws tried it every day. However they are all enjoying it now as there are bits dropping on the ground for the bigger birds. It is good that I won’t have to replace the suet block every two days now! A great product.

It seems to stop the squirrels getting at the suet block, but not the crows, jackdaws and magpies which are becoming a nuisance.

We already have a squirrel guard on the bird feeder this new cage was to keep the magpies off and it works a treat. The magpies come back every few days and look at it but cannot reach the suet block. Easy to refill and an area in the base to catch any bits to stop mess on the garden.
