Unless placed directly onto a surface like a bird table, suet blocks need a feeder to fit inside. The Suet Block Feeder is a simple yet effective design, with the cage allowing birds such as Blue tits to grip onto it and therefore easily peck at the nutritious suet block. This suet block bird feeder comes in two sizes: the smaller size holds one suet block, and the larger size holds two suet blocks. The suet block feeder for birds is made from coated metal to ensure durability and to keep it from rusting.
A suet block feeder - also referred to as a suet cake feeder - can be hung from a tree branch or from a bird feeding station.
An advantage of a suet block feeder in this design, is that ground feeding birds such as Robin and Blackbird are able to stand on the flat top of the feeder and therefore can peck at the suet below them.

All the bird food we ordered arrived safely and on time. The birds love the block food and the feeder is substantial enough for the starlings and rooks which have also found it.

These easily hold two suet blocks. The blocks are now getting thinner as the birds are pecking so I am just hoping that as the blocks are getting thinner the birds may need to grow their beaks to reach!

Just to say thankyou for sending my order so promptly and so beautifully packed. The double suet-block holder is so well designed and will be very useful. You are a splendid establishment and greatly appreciated.
Suet blocks are a tried-and-tested high energy food for garden birds. Suet blocks can be placed on a flat surface like a bird table, but really they’re best fed from a suet block bird feeder which is designed for the job. A suet block feeder like this one allows birds such as Blue tit, Coal tit, Great tit, Long tailed tit, Starling, Great spotted woodpecker and Nuthatch to cling to the cage and chip away at the suet inside.
The flat surface of this suet cake feeder also acts as something of a platform for ground feeding birds such as Robin to use. Blackbirds may also use the feeder in the same way, as they’d be unable to cling to the side of the cage in the way, for example, that a species of tit would.
Suet block feeders can easily be hung from the arm of a bird feeding station or from the branch of a tree. A further option is to hammer a nail into a fence post and hang the suet block bird feeder from this.
We stock a range of suet blocks for this feeder.
Is this suet block feeder for small birds only?
Larger birds such as Jackdaws might also use this suet block feeder, so if that’s an issue in your garden because it deters smaller birds from feeding, then provide a separate caged suet block feederwhich will only allow small birds in.
What kind of birds use a suet feeder?
A wide range of birds will use a suet block feeder, including Robin, Great tit, Starling, Blue tit, Coal tit, Long-tailed tit, Great spotted woodpecker and Nuthatch.
Where is the best place to put a suet feeder?
A suet feeder can be hung from a tree branch, from the arm of a bird feeding station, or from a nail banged into a fence post.
