Description

Our Mealworm Flavour Suet Blocks provide a great source of fat and therefore energy for a range of different garden birds. Mealworm bird suet blocks can be fed in different ways to attract different species, with a hanging cage suitable for most species of tit and Great spotted woodpecker, with a small ground tray allowing Robins and Blackbirds to easily feed. Starlings will be happy with either option.

Mealworm suet blocks for birds can be put out in your garden at any time of the year, though doing so in the winter months will be the most beneficial. This is because songbirds need high levels of fat to provide the energy for both flight and to keep warm, with suet products being arguably the best way to provide this.

I am delighted with the response I have had from the birds in my garden to the suet block. A much greater number of different kinds are now visiting the feeder regularly compared to other brands I have tried.

These fat blocks must be delicious because I have never seen them eaten so quickly. The birds (mainly fledglings) are stripping them in less than a day.

The birds visiting the feeders in our garden are really appreciative of the fat blocks, and also the fat balls, from Vine House Farm, more so than products bought from elsewhere.

These blocks are a good consistency- they aren't dry and crumbly as some are, they are dense and moist. The birds seem to appreciate them. One parent blackbird visited with it's almost fledged offspring and went busily to and fro between the fat and the fledgling again and again.

Seem to go down well with a variety of birds and stay in one piece, unlike some blocks which crumble. The blocks come wrapped in paper which is much better than the old plastic.

The birds really love these blocks. They alternate between the meal worm blocks and the berry blocks. The bigger birds are arguing at the top and the smaller birds keep away from the action and scramble around below to get the droppings. The whole slab is gone in about 4 days. They love them. Thank you

As soon as a new block goes out in the cage, birds flock in. If a bunch of Starlings comes along - Starlings never come along in singles - they can demolish a block in a day or two. Smaller birds that can cling on love the suet too and suet is a top Winter food.

What can I say the birds love them and they don’t last very long. The magpies have worked out how to get them and the woodpeckers long beak soon demolished them .

There are few better foods to provide for certain species of garden bird than suet – especially in the winter months. The simple reason is the very high levels of fat in suet, with our Mealworm Flavour Suet Blocks being absolutely packed with it. Garden birds need this fat because it in turn provides energy, which is then used to keep warm and of course for flying and other movement. The species of bird which will be attracted by mealworm suet blocks include: Blue tit, Coal tit, Great tit, Long-tailed tit, Starling, Great spotted woodpecker, Robin and Blackbird. A hanging cage can be used for most of these species, but for Blackbirds in particular the suet block should be placed on a bird table or in a small ground tray. Larger species of bird such as Jackdaw may also be attracted by suet blocks, but if you don’t want them to eat the suet then use a caged suet block feeder. Our suet blocks are also available in insect and berry flavour.
