Our Robin bird food is a special mix that contains different food sources. These have all been selected to appeal to Robins, as well as other soft-billed birds.

This bird food contains chopped peanuts, berry suet pellets, sunflower hearts, sunflower heart chips, pinhead oats, rolled naked oats, dried mealworms and sultanas. This is one of our best selling ground food mixes.

This Robin seed mix is ideal for feeding on bird tables and on the ground. It includes chopped peanuts, so you do not need to worry about Robins choking on whole peanuts with our Robin and Friends Mix.

All soft-billed species will love the small-bite sized sunflower heart chips and Blackbirds will adore the inclusion of sultanas.

FAQ Title 1 How to feed our Robin bird food mix
FAQ Content 1

You can scatter our Robin bird seed mix straight onto a bird table, on a ground feeder or straight onto the ground of your garden.

This mixture is created so that it's safe to consume for all soft-bill, small birds. We have included chopped peanuts in our mixture. This makes it easy to eat for birds with long, thinner beaks like the Robin and other softbill birds like Song Thrush.

You can also put Robin bird food mixes into a bird feeder, like a hanging or window feeder. This is a good option if you are concerned about putting bird food for Robins in open spaces.

This can cause issues if:

-You have a dog that can access this area (the sultanas in the mix can be harmful to some dogs if eaten in large quantities); or

-You want to stop larger birds from getting to the mixture; or

-You want to avoid squirrels feeding on your Robin bird food.

FAQ Title 2 Can I put Robin seed mixes straight on the ground?
FAQ Content 2 Robins are ground feeding birds, so putting our Robin and Friends mix straight on the ground will help to attract this popular garden bird to your garden. However, putting this mixture on the ground without a feeder can cause a few issues, in certain situations. For example, it can attract larger birds and squirrels to the feeding area. This can frighten Robins and other smaller birds and stop them from feeding. To avoid this, use a ground tray for this mix and place a Ground Guard around it. This will stop squirrels or larger birds from accessing the food, while still allowing Robins and small birds to pass through and eat the food. Our specially-made bird food for Robins contains sultanas, which are a favourite with this species of bird. If you have a dog, having exposed sultanas in your garden can cause issues; they can be poisonous in large amounts to some breeds. Again, the best option to avoid this is to put the mix into a bird feeder that the dog is unable to access.
FAQ Title 3 Why do Robins like this bird food?
FAQ Content 3 Our Robin and friends seed mix is designed with Robins and small soft-bill birds in mind. It contains a selection of Robin's favourite foods, including high energy chopped peanuts, suet pellets, sunflower hearts, sunflower chips and sweet sultanas. These items are all premium, chipped products, with all the seeds having their husks removed. This makes them ideal for Robins to eat with their rounded small beaks. They are also popular with other soft-bill birds, like Blackbirds. This mix also contains dried mealworms, which are very popular with Robins, which commonly feed on live worms and other live foods.
FAQ Title 4 What shouldn't I feed to Robins?
FAQ Content 4 You should avoid feeding Robins anything they could choke on, and the same goes for all smaller, soft-billed birds. Some of these birds won't attempt to eat whole seeds or whole peanuts, as they cannot break them down with their beaks. However, Robins especially have been known to attempt to eat such items, especially whole peanuts. This can cause them to choke and die. If you are including whole peanuts in your bird food selection, never feed them unless they are in a feeder with mesh around them. This prevents them from being accidentally swallowed whole and causing issues for small birds.
FAQ Title 5 Which birds eat Robin bird food mixes?
FAQ Content 5

Aside from Robins, several other species of wild bird will readily eat our Robin and Friends Food Mix. This is because it includes a diverse range of food sources.

Other birds that will eat this seed mix include:

-Song thrushes and Blackbirds

-Tits (including Blue tits, Long-tailed tits, and Great tits)

-Finches (including Greenfinches)

- Great spotted Woodpeckers

-House sparrows and Tree sparrows

This is a lovely mix but unfortunately the second batch that was damaged by the courier. The first was undelivered with no communication until I queried its whereabouts, and this one arrived open and spilling out, with the courier hoping we wouldn't notice they'd partially taped it up. FAQS

How to feed our Robin bird food mix

Can I put Robin seed mixes straight on the ground?
Robins are ground feeding birds, so putting our Robin and Friends mix straight on the ground will help to attract this popular garden bird to your garden.
Why do Robins like this bird food?
Our Robin and friends seed mix is designed with Robins and small soft-bill birds in mind.
What shouldn't I feed to Robins?
You should avoid feeding Robins anything they could choke on, and the same goes for all smaller, soft-billed birds.
Which birds eat Robin bird food mixes?

Aside from Robins, several other species of wild bird will readily eat our Robin and Friends Food Mix. This is because it includes a diverse range of food sources.

Other birds that will eat this seed mix include:

-Song thrushes and Blackbirds

-Tits (including Blue tits, Long-tailed tits, and Great tits)

-Finches (including Greenfinches)

- Great spotted Woodpeckers

-House sparrows and Tree sparrows
